Startup Genome DE&I Policy

1. Background and Our Commitment to DE&I
As an active contributor to the innovation ecosystem, Startup Genome recognizes that Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) play a vital role in building a sustainable society and are essential to the growth and resilience of organizations. We are committed to advancing DE&I as an integral part of our mission and values within the global innovation ecosystem.

We define diversity as the variety of identities, backgrounds, and perspectives that shape who we are; equity as ensuring fair access and opportunity for all; and inclusion as fostering a culture where everyone feels respected, supported, and empowered to contribute fully.

2. Our Goals for Advancing DE&I
To realize our DE&I vision, we aim to:

  • Establish clear policies and strategies to promote DE&I across all operations.

  • Demonstrate leadership that embodies DE&I principles and fosters open communication.

  • Build an inclusive and psychologically-safe organizational culture.

  • Recruit and develop diverse talent across all levels.

  • Ensure transparency in decisionmaking and organizational processes.

  • Address unconscious bias through systemic and continuous efforts.

  • Encourage learning and awareness initiatives on DE&I topics.

  • Review and refine our DE&I approach regularly to ensure continuous improvement.

3. Commitment to Eliminating Harassment
Harassment in any form violates human rights and has no place within our organization or in the broader innovation ecosystem.

We are firmly committed to preventing and eradicating harassment through:

  • Establishing a zero tolerance policy toward harassment and discrimination.

  • Clearly communicating our leadership’s commitment to creating a safe and respectful environment.

  • Ensuring fair and confidential processes are in place for raising and addressing concerns.

  • Promoting education and fostering awareness to help prevent and eliminate harassment and discrimination.
